In addition the complex in Łysomice will provide the company's factories in Spain and Germany with LCD monitors for their large TVs.
The factories located near Toruń will insure the firm has access to qualified personnel - the graduates of the numerous academic centres throughout the voivodship.
- Countries such as Poland, the Czech Rep., Hungary and Slovakia are showing a high rate of growth in LCD TV sales, and their significance will increase in the future - said Mr. Toshiyuki Tajima the former President of the Board of Sharp Manufacturing Poland - We observed the potential of this market in the initial phases of its development, which was why we located it in at the heart of this key sector - he added.
The world's largest LCD crystal market is Europe, it's anticipated that by 2011 30% of the worldwide demand will be concentrated here. The Polish plant has been set up to try to match this demand. Then projected production output by 2011 is to be 10 million screens. The rest of Sharps factories producing LCD screens are in: Mexico, China, Malaysia and Japan.
